Obscure Little Swat Borders on Impossible
Dublin Core
Title
Obscure Little Swat Borders on Impossible
Description
Montreal, Quebec
Part one of a five part co-series with cartoonist Ed McNally about spending time in Swat, as state in the western region of Pakistan. The series was "designed for people seeking a change from Viet Nam, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, China, etc., etc., etc.” Desbarats discusses the poem “The Askoond of Swat” by George Thomas Lanigan. It is a very inaccurate poem. Desbarats saw Swat as a simple, idyllic place soon to be wiped away by the forces of modernity.
