Part three of a five part co-series with cartoonist Ed McNally about spending time in Swat, a unique state in the western region of Pakistan. Peter argues that there are no missionaries in Swat because no assistance is required. “By its own efforts the state has created a network of schools, hospitals and other government services which is probably unmatched in any other developing country.” He believed Swat to be more beautiful than Switzerland and better than heaven. However, he does indicate that medicine and dentistry were still quite haphazard and that most teachers were not all fully qualified.
