Description

This rhyming children's book is about a young girl, Lizzy, and the lion she keeps in her bedroom. When a robber sneaks in one night, the lion proceeds to eat him. Lizzy then wakes up to find bits of the robber strewn about her room. She and her lion pick up these human pieces (including toes and a head), put them in the garbage, and go back to bed.

This book has been challenged by people who have claimed that the material is too violent for the intended audiences. It is cited as being one of the most challenged books in Canada from 1985 to 1987. Despite these challenges, the book remained widely available.
